Sealed Bids will be received for the Montgomery County Riner Rescue Squad, IFB # 20-09, by Heather Hall, Procurement Manager at the Montgomery County Government Center, 755 Roanoke Street, Suite 2C, Christiansburg, VA 24073, until 3:00 P.M., local prevailing time, on November 21, 2019, and then will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Montgomery County Government Center, 755 Roanoke Street, Multi-Purpose Room #2, Christiansburg, Virginia. Withdrawal of bids shall be according to Procedure (i) of Section 2.2-4330 of the Code of Virginia, as amended. A Bid Bond is required.
The project consists of the renovation of the existing Riner Volunteer Fire Station in order to accommodate the Riner Volunteer Rescue Squad. The renovations will include the renovation of the existing vehicle bay into new bunk and toilet rooms for volunteers. Renovations to the existing toilet rooms for accessibility, new security access control on all exterior hinged doors, and new ceilings throughout, new LED lighting will also be provided through the building-interior and exterior, new sanitary sewer lines will be installed to existing manholes and repairs to existing asphalt surface.

A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on October 29, 2019, at 10:00 A.M. All interested parties are requested to meet the Owner and Architect at the former Riner Fire Station Meeting Room, located at 4171 Riner Rd, Riner, Virginia.
Bids must be accompanied by Bid security as specified in the Instructions to Bidders.
Each Bidder must be licensed as a Class A contractor in the State of Virginia; Bidders are instructed to review the Code of Virginia, Title 54.1, Chapter 11, prior to bidding.
The Owner does not discriminate against faith-based organizations in accordance with the Code of Virginia, § 2.2-4343.1.
MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit Bids.
The Contract(s) shall be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder(s).
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids if it appears in its best interest to do so.
