Separate sealed Bids for the Rita Lane Improvements for the Dickenson County Board of Supervisors, which consists of the construction of approximately 1,100 linear feet of roadway improvements from Route 731 to the end of Rita Lane including earthwork, paving, drainage, erosion and sediment control, and associated items; will be received by Mr. David Moore, Jr., County Administrator, at the Dickenson Center for Education and Research, P.O. Box 1098, 818 Happy Valley Drive, Clintwood, VA 24228, until 2:00 P.M., local prevailing time, on April 16, 2020, and then at Room 163 (Industrial Training Room B) publicly opened and read aloud.
The Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations: Dickenson County Board of Supervisors, Dickenson Center for Education and Research, 818 Happy Valley Drive, Clintwood, VA 24228; THOMPSON & LITTON, 103 E. Main Street, Wise, VA; THOMPSON & LITTON, 100 Fifth Street, Suite 400, Bristol, TN; and online at TRASCO (http://www.trascoplanroom.com).
Copies of the Contract Documents (electronic and/or hard copy) are available for purchase through TRASCO at http://www.trascoplanroom.com.
A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on March 31, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. All interested parties are requested to meet the Engineer at Dickenson Center for Education and Research, 818 Happy Valley Drive, Room 163 (Industrial Training Room B), Clintwood, VA 24228 at that time.
Withdrawal of bids shall be according to procedure (i) of the Virginia Public Procurement Act and to the Code of Virginia (§ 2.2-4330).
Bids must be accompanied by Bid security as specified in the Instructions to Bidders.
Each Bidder must be licensed as a Class A contractor in the State of Virginia; Bidders are instructed to review the Code of Virginia, Title 54.1, Chapter 11, prior to bidding.
Each Bidder must be a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Pre-Qualified Contractor.
By submission of a signed Bid, the Bidder certifies total compliance with Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, and all regulations promulgated thereunder.
The Bidder shall comply with all provisions of TCA 50-9-113 as it relates to Drug-Free Workplace requirements. The Bidder shall complete the Drug-Free Workplace Affidavit of Prime Bidder form and submit it with their bid.
The Owner does not discriminate against faith-based organizations in accordance with the Code of Virginia, § 2.2-4343.1.
MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit Bids.
The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids if it appears in its best interest to do so.
