Sealed bids are invited for the construction of permanent glazed partitions in the Galax Hall Dental Lab at Wytheville Community College, Project Code # AP2021-015, located in Wytheville, VA. The project is generally described as installation of permanent glazed partitions and will include partial removal and reconstruction of existing partial height gypsum wall board partitions for installation of wall stiffeners.
Sealed bids will be received at Virginia Community College System, Attention: Ms. Sibyl Roberts, 300 Arboretum Place, Suite 200, Richmond, Virginia 23236, Telephone (804) 819-4918. PLEASE NOTE: For shipping/mailing, use Suite 390; for hand delivery, use Suite 200. The deadline for submitting bids is 2:00 P.M. sharp, as determined by the Bid Officer, on January 19, 2022. The bids will be opened publicly and read aloud beginning at 2:00 P.M., on January 20, 2022, at the same location.
DUE TO COVID-19 AND GOVERNOR’S EXECUTIVE ORDER NUMBER 55: In person hand delivery is being supported on bid day from 9:00 A.M. to time of bid receipt (2:00 P.M. unless otherwise stated in the IFB) at the stated location. Building is open during regular business hours. All visitors need to sign in at the virtual receptionist (iPad on the wall in the main lobby.) Delivery on all other days should be by mail, UPS, FedEx or similar shipping method. Bids may be modified as per the Instructions to Bidders using fax number (804) 819-4762 and copying email@example.com.
A Standard Commonwealth Bid Bond is required (form CO-10.2 and Contract Security is required) for any bid regardless of bid amount.
eVA Vendor Registration: The bidder or offeror shall be a registered vendor in eVA. See the attached eVA Vendor Registration Requirements.
Procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, withdrawal of bids and other pertinent information are contained in the Instructions to Bidders, which is part of the Invitation for Bids. Withdrawal due to error in bid shall be permitted in accord with Section 9 of the Instructions to Bidders and § 2.2-4330, Code of Virginia. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
A pre-bid conference will be held virtually on December 9, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. Please register to attend by contacting Brenda Landes, firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 5:00 P.M. on December 8, 2021. A WebEx link will be sent to registrants. Interested bidders may alternatively attend the meeting on-site. The on-site meeting will take place in Smyth Hall, Room 130. Attendance shall be optional for those submitting a bid. A site visit will be conducted immediately following the pre-bid conference.
The contract shall be awarded on a lump sum basis as follows: the Total Base Bid Amount including any properly submitted and received bid modifications plus such successive Additive Bid Items as the Owner in its discretion decides to award in the manner set forth in Paragraph 12 of the Instructions to Bidders. ‘Notice of Award’ or ‘Notice of Intent to Award’ will be posted on eVA, Virginia Department of General Services’ central electronic procurement website, at https://eva.virginia.gov.
Contractor registration is required in accordance with Section 54.1-1103 of the Code of Virginia. See the Invitation for Bids for additional qualification requirements.
