Sealed Bids for the construction of the Project will be received, by the City of Lexington, Virginia, at the Department of Public Works, 890 Shop Road, Lexington, Virginia, 24450, until 10:00 AM local time on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
The Project includes the following Work:
The Project includes the partial removal of the existing traffic signal at the intersection of US Route 60 (East Nelson Street) and Evergreen Place as shown on the Plans; reusing the existing traffic signal and pedestal poles, conduits, junction boxes, and electrical service as shown on the Plans; and the installation of new traffic signal equipment including new span wire & tether cable system, signal heads, conductor cables, controller cabinet, traffic signal controller, UPS system, wireless vehicle detection system, emergency vehicle preemption system, wireless broadband radio, pedestrian push buttons, pedestrian signal heads and appurtenances, and other equipment as required.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form.

Bidding Documents may be printed and/or downloaded from the designated website upon nonrefundable payment to TRASCO, 128 Kirk Avenue, SW, Roanoke, Virginia 24011, (540-345-1533). Prospective Bidders are urged to register with the designated website as a plan holder, even if Bidding Documents are obtained from a plan room or source other than the designated website in either electronic or paper format. The designated website will be updated periodicallywith addenda, lists of registered plan holders, reports, and other information relevant to submitting a Bid for the Project. All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered only through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the designated website.
Bidding Documents also may be examined at the office of the City of Lexington Department of Public Works, 890 Shop Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450 on Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. and online at https://www.trascoplanroom.com/.
A non-mandatory hybrid pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 AM local time on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, via a Zoom meeting or in person at the City of Lexington Department of Public Works, 890 Shop Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450. Prospective Bidders are encouraged to test the provided link to the Zoom meeting well in advance of the prebid conference to confirm access and compatibility.
