Bedford County will receive sealed bids for the Falling Creek Road Sewage Lift Station located at 1345 Falling Creek Road, Bedford, VA 24523.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Construction of a new sanitary lift station to serve multiple facilities along Falling Creek Road and upgrades to an existing sewage lift station on County Farm Road. Existing drain fields will be abandoned in place. Work includes new gravity piping and force main to connect the new lift station to the existing lift station northeast of the nursing home and other work indicated in the Contract Documents.

Bids shall be prepared on a single-prime, lump sum basis. Bids will be received until 3:00 PM local time on January 30, 2026, at 122 East Main Street, Bedford VA 24523. Bids will be opened and read aloud immediately following.

Bidders and other interested parties may purchase complete sets of Bidding Documents (electronic and/or hard copy) from TRASCO www.trascoplanroom.com (540) 345-1533.

A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, 1345 Falling Creek Road, Bedford VA 24523 on January 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM. A site visit will immediately follow. Questions should be submitted in writing to dcoffman@bedfordcountyva.gov on the Pre-Bid Question form included in the project manual.

BID SECURITY: Each Contractor must submit, with the Bid Documents, a bid security in the amount of five (5) percent of the bid as described in the Instructions of Bidders. The successful Contractors will be required to furnish and pay for performance and payment bonds from a bonding company licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as described in the Instructions to Bidders.

The attention of each Bidder is directed to Title 54.1 of Chapter 11, Code of Virginia, pertaining to registration.

All Bids shall remain valid for a period of thirty (30) days after the scheduled bid due date. Withdrawal of bids due to error shall be in accordance with Section 2.2-4330, Code of Virginia.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities or irregularities in the bids received, to accept the Bid deemed to be in the best interest of the Owner, and to negotiate with the apparent low bidder should the lowest responsive and responsible bid exceed the funds available for the project.

Save your file. Typically it saves by default to your ( Downloads ) folder.
Open your File Explorer and browse to your ( Downloads ) Folder.
Find the Download_###.zip file you downloaded. Right Click on the Download_####.zip file and click ( Extract All ). A Window will popup Extract Compressed ( Zipped ) Folders. The default should extract and create a sub-folder in your Downloads folder with the PDF files inside. Keep your ZIP Files in case you misplace, delete or corrupt your PDF file(s). You can always just extract them again. Once you have extracted the files this way you can move the unpacked folder or files. If you try to move the files out of the zip file any other way you run the risk of corrupting the pdf file(s)…
