Separate sealed Bids for the Rocky Mount Water Treatment Plant Improvements Sludge Collection System Replacement for the Town of Rocky Mount, Virginia, which consists of the demolition and removal of existing flight and chain sludge collection system from the sedimentation basins and installation of submerged collection system siphon sludge removal assemblies including electrical, suction header pipes, guide rails, flexible extracting hoses, drive units, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, and associated items, will be received by Mark W. Moore, Assistant Town Manager/Community Development Director, at the Town Hall, 345 Donald Avenue, Rocky Mount, VA, 24151 until 2:00 P.M., local prevailing time, on May 15, 2024, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

The Contract Documents may be examined at the Town of Rocky Mount, Virginia; and online at TRASCO (http://www.trascoplanroom.com).

Copies of the Contract Documents (electronic and/or hard copy) are available for purchase through TRASCO at http://www.trascoplanroom.com.

A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on April 23, 2024 at 10:00 A.M.  All interested parties are requested to meet the Engineer at the Water Treatment Plant, 220 Shady Lane, Rocky Mount, VA 24151 at that time. The last day to receive questions will be May 3, 2024.

Withdrawal of bids shall be according to procedure (i) of the Virginia Public Procurement Act and to the Code of Virginia (§ 2.2-4330).

Bids must be accompanied by Bid security as specified in the Instructions to Bidders.

Each Bidder must be licensed as a Class A contractor in the State of Virginia; Bidders are instructed to review the Code of Virginia, Title 54.1, Chapter 11, prior to bidding.

The Owner does not discriminate against faith-based organizations in accordance with the Code of Virginia, § 2.2-4343.1.

MBE/WBE firms are encouraged to submit Bids. 

The Contract(s) shall be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder(s). 

The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids if it appears in its best interest to do so.

Instructions for Downloads & Extracting Files.

Save your file. Typically it saves by default to your ( Downloads ) folder.
Open your File Explorer and browse to your ( Downloads ) Folder.
Find the Download_###.zip file you downloaded. Right Click on the Download_####.zip file and click ( Extract All ). A Window will popup Extract Compressed ( Zipped ) Folders. The default should extract and create a sub-folder in your Downloads folder with the PDF files inside. Keep your ZIP Files in case you misplace, delete or corrupt your PDF file(s). You can always just extract them again. Once you have extracted the files this way you can move the unpacked folder or files. If you try to move the files out of the zip file any other way you run the risk of corrupting the pdf file(s)…
