Provide brief description of Project scope and budget to give potential bidders information to help them decide if they will consider bidding Project. If required, include subparagraph indicating estimated construction cost.
Project Description: Project consists of interior demolition at the existing Wells Fargo Annex Building.
Construction Contract: Bids will be received for the following Work:
Revise sample subparagraphs below to correspond to the delivery system applicable to Project. Revise below if using construction management or design-build project delivery methods.
General Contract (all trades).
BID SUBMITTAL AND OPENING
Revise first paragraph below to suit Project. Retain bid date and time consistent with local practices such as those recommended by regional AIA/AGC Joint Cooperative Committees.
Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until the bid time and date at the location given below. Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows:
Bid Date: May 15, 2025.
Bid Time: 2:00 p.m. by clock on the wall.
Location: Office of the County Administrator, Alleghany County Governmental Complex, 9212 Winterberry Avenue, Covington, Virginia 24426.
Bids will also be received electronically online at www.trascoplanroom.com.until 2:00 p.m., local prevailing time, on May 15, 2025, and then publicly opened and read aloud virtually. Contact Reid Walters for the link to the virtual bid opening. Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud.
BID SECURITY
Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 10 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.
PREBID MEETING
Retain one of two "Prebid Meeting" paragraphs below.

Prebid Meeting: A Prebid meeting for all bidders will be held at the Wells Fargo Annex Building, 246 W Main Street, Covington, Virginia 24426 on April 30, 2025 at 10:30 a.m., local time. Prospective prime bidders are required to attend.
Bidders' Questions: Owner or Architect will provide responses to bidders' questions received up to 5:00 pm on May 8, 2025. Bidder questions shall be submitted using the Pre-Bid Question Form attached at the end of this document.

Retain "Printed Procurement and Contracting Documents" or "Online Procurement and Contracting Documents" Paragraph below and revise to suit Project.

TIME OF COMPLETION
If retaining option in paragraph below, coordinate with the Contract Documents. Liquidated damages are typically listed in the Supplementary Conditions.
Successful bidder shall begin the Work on receipt of the Notice to Proceed and shall complete the Work within the Contract Time. Work is subject to liquidated damages.
BIDDER'S QUALIFICATIONS
Retain and revise first paragraph below if prequalification of bidders is allowed and advisable for Project.
Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the Work. A Performance Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the contract amount and separate Labor and Material Payment Bond in the amount of 100 percent of the contract amount will be required of the successful Bidder. Insurance in a form acceptable to Owner will be required of the successful Bidder.

Note the filename ( Download_#### ) if you need to search for it later.
Save your file. Typically it saves by default to your ( Downloads ) folder.
Open your File Explorer and browse to your ( Downloads ) Folder.
Find the Download_###.zip file you downloaded. Right Click on the Download_####.zip file and click ( Extract All ). A Window will popup Extract Compressed ( Zipped ) Folders. The default should extract and create a sub-folder in your Downloads folder with the PDF files inside. Keep your ZIP Files in case you misplace, delete or corrupt your PDF file(s). You can always just extract them again. Once you have extracted the files this way you can move the unpacked folder or files. If you try to move the files out of the zip file any other way you run the risk of corrupting the pdf file(s)…
